Eric Beckman

In 2019 I found BiggerPockets, read more than I should have, and bought a rental house in Wichita, Kansas. That first house taught me most of what I know about owning a small business: the money is simple, the people are not, and the work is in the phone calls nobody else wants to make.

Today I sell for Haven AI, which builds AI agents for property management companies, and I am starting Birdhouse Management, a property management company in Wichita, with my sister. One job shows me what hundreds of operators are up against. The other makes me one of them.

This site is where I write down what I learn, mostly from other owners. Articles, short posts, single thoughts, recordings and the occasional review. The person or the idea is the headline; I am the byline. You can find me on LinkedIn.
